It’s been almost 3 weeks since we arrived home from our trip to The States.
Since then, I’ve been working hard on getting this website ready to launch as well as getting back into consistent run training. Prior to leaving, we invested in a treadmill so I’d be able to sneak in runs while Darcy sleeps.
Even when he only manages a 30 minute nap I’ve been able to maximise this small piece of time by hooking the baby monitor up and running until he wakes.
I’ve also been trying to plan out some races for 2020 to keep myself motivated. I am yet to commit to any at the moment but will start locking down dates soon.
I have just joined the local running club, Kembla Joggers for their summer series. They hold a range of events including weekly 5km XC races throughout the summer with their first one being held on October 1. I’m really looking forward to having a hit out and setting myself a time to continually improve on over the season. It’ll be a bit tricky getting there every week with the 2 kids, especially as I am still nursing Darcy on demand, but I’m going to try and get to as many as I can.
Prior to kids, my fastest 5k was 21.35 – I know I am nowhere near that at the moment but I am hoping to crack that 20 minute mark in the not too distant future.
In other lofty goals, I’ve recently been speaking with Sarah Canney who is an awesome writer, runner, and a massive idol of mine about getting my idea of hosting women’s running retreats off the ground. Sarah is the founder and host of Rise.Run.Retreat and graciously shared so much of what she has learnt along the way with me.
As you can see, along with keeping 2 humans alive I have been quite busy lately. I’m super excited about what’s to come and thanks for joining me on this adventure!
